Keep Air Cooled Heat Exchangers & Fin Fan Units Clean

Total Solutions For Air Cooled Heat Exchangers

Cleaning air-cooled heat exchangers, and especially fin fans units can be tough work. But dirt build up on coils and in tubes can cause a loss of efficiency and even equipment failure. With Goodway's innovative solutions like the CoilPro® CC-400HF Coil Cleaner, AWT-100X Heavy Duty Tube Cleaner and RAM-4 Tube Cleaner, maintenance just got a lot easier, so you can keep your fin fan running properly and the energy bill low.

The Cost of Dirty Air Cooled Heat Exchangers

When heat exchangers are neglected and dirt and debris are left to collect it can wreak havoc on your equipment and increase energy consumption. The equipment has to work harder to do the same amount of output, causing undue stress on the machine and taking more energy to do the work. The more energy used, the higher the energy bill. Regular maintenance is a great way to help save the trouble, time and cost of buying a new machine and to keep your energy consumption in check.

Challenges Cleaning an Air Cooled Heat Exchanger

Cleaning an air-cooled heat exchanger can be hard work. When using water and chemical to wash away grime, getting the pressure just right can be tough. Too much pressure will damage the coils and fins, but too little pressure won't get the job done. Plus getting in to the tiny spaces that dirt loves to hide in is a challenge. Not only do you have to clean the coils but the tubes too. Besides needing to find the right brush or tool, you need the right amount of control to be sure they don't cut into the tube wall or get stuck in the tube.

Innovative Solutions

Knowing how challenging keeping an air-cooled heat exchanger in good shape can be, Goodway has some innovative solutions to help. Goodway's coil cleaner and tube cleaners like the CoilPro® CC-400HF, AWT-100X and the RAM 4 were designed to help you perform routine maintenance tasks--like fin fan maintenance-- faster, easier, safer and with more efficiency.

The right flow rate, power and connection with the CoilPro® CC-400HF

With 400 PSI of cleaning power and 3 GPM+ flow rate this machine powers through even the thickest, dirtiest coils. Plus it offers special siphon technology to draw from CoilShine®, Goodway's expanding foam detergent, or other non-acidic cleaners, laying on a thick layer of foam and then using the CC-400HF patented technology to blast dirt, grime and biological matter from coils quickly. This unit includes our sectional 3-piece wand, which allows for better cleaning behind coils and sprays with a 90-degree nozzle attachment, for the dirty coils that might otherwise get missed. Perfect for hard-to-reach heat exchangers, the CoilPro® CC-400HF operates on AC power and connects to a 3/4" water line for continuous operation.

Blast deposits with AWT-100X

The AWT-100X, air powered, heavy-duty tube cleaner, uses a cleaning tool mounted to the tip of a flexible shaft. For wet applications, the unit feeds water through the casing to the cleaning tool, flushing out deposits as they are loosened. This product is a great solution for cleaning deposits within tubes, especially for fin fan units. The air powered tube cleaner is a favorite in the oil and gas business where air-powered may be preferred due to sparking risk issues.

Flush out deposits with the RAM-4

Another option for cleaning heat exchanger tubes and those specifically in fin fan units is the simple, one-person electric powered RAM-4. It requires power and integrated water flush. It uses a cleaning tool mounted to the tip of a flexible shaft to feed the water through the casing to the cleaning tool, flushing out deposits as they are loosened. All brushes and tools are designed not to cut into the tube wall or get stuck in the tube. For faster, more controlled cleaning, the RAM-4 can also be made with an optional two-direction foot switch.
