Commercial Vacuum Cleaners
Goodway
offers a wide range of commercial vacuum cleaners and accessories both
for commercial and industrial maintenance. Goodway commercial vacuum
cleaners are constructed of heavy gauge steel, stainless steel and aluminum
for reliability and long life. Goodway commercial vacuum cleaners use
a two-stage or by-pass motor. By-pass motors are constructed so that
the impeller housing is sealed and isolated from the motor housing.
The motor housing has its own cooling fan which draws clean outside
air into the motor housing, preventing the possibility of dirt getting
into the motor and reducing the life of commercial vacuum cleaners.
By-pass motors are more expensive, but they are also more reliable.

What to Look for When Selecting a Commercial
Vacuum Cleaner
How many times has a salesman started off a conversation about an equipment purchase with, "How much are you willing to spend?" Price is an important consideration, but it is by no means the first one. An efficient and dependable commercial vacuum cleaner that performs its intended task will ultimately contribute more to your bottom line than it cost to acquire. It will also ensure that your business is in compliance with work safety and environmental standards. The right choice begins with application.
Consider your available power source and you'll simplify your
choices substantially. Some environments, because of their remoteness
or due to the presence of hazardous conditions, necessitate the
use of air-powered equipment. Other applications place emphasis
on suction, such as fine powder and soot recovery. However, be
careful to consider collection as well as disposal. A well-engineered
unit will not only remove contaminants and debris. It will also
require minimal time and effort to unload. Some units have enough
capacity to minimize the frequency of unloading. Others incorporate
easy-tilt or detachable tanks to simplify emptying. Filtration
is also crucial. For removal of harmful substances such as asbestos
or lead paint, a High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter
is required. When portability is a primary concern, an ideal solution
might be a backpack vacuum.
With comfortable straps and integrated tool belts, they can be
surprisingly comfortable and easy to use, and are available for
both HEPA and standard applications

Is your Commerical
Vacuum Cleaner Sucking Away Profits and Compromising Safety?
They might be marketed as heavy-duty and high horsepower, but commercial vacuums from the local supply store are inadequate for the industrial applications that contract professionals face. You may think they're a bargain, but not when you consider the high cost of replacements and work stoppage due to their failure rate. Their simplicity leaves the motor vulnerable to the very particles they're designed to collect. Additionally, most commercial vacuum cleaners employ a crude, single-stage filtration system that fails to capture hazardous particles, creating a dangerous work environment and one that fails to comply with federal and state health regulations.
Maintenance and manufacturing technicians can't afford to cut costs when it comes to air quality and industrial hygiene. Out in the field and in the plant, each situation has its own unique demands. That's why there are many solutions when it comes to commercial vacuum choices, from air-powered units and wet/dry vacs to continuous-duty systems and those specializing in fine-particle recovery. Options are good thing. It means that no matter what situation you encounter, there's a vacuum system that's designed to safely and effectively meet or exceed your requirements. This article will help you choose the right unit for your application and alert you to some of the performance and safety issues you need to be aware of to make an informed decision.

360 Degrees of Commercial Vacuum Safety
Safety and regulatory issues must be considered both when servicing a client as well as when running a plant or other operation. The maintenance technician, for instance, places equal emphasis on the safety of those occupying his building as he does his own employees. Contract professionals are surrounded by safety and compliance matters. Fortunately, some of the more common occupational health concerns pertaining to air quality, including OSHA and EPA regulations, can be addressed with the correct commercial vacuum cleaner. Industrial Certified HEPA vacuums
In many industrial plants, workplace toxins like silica dust, sand, concrete and glass can be safely minimized using a vacuum system with a HEPA filter that is designed to handle the performance requirements of the plant environment. Other systems are specifically engineered for asbestos and lead abatement in commercial and residential dwellings. With fine-particle filtration down to 0.3 microns, HEPA commercial vacuum cleaners can minimize the risk of respiratory conditions such as occupational bronchitis, asthma, emphysema and silicosis. Always use caution when choosing a manufacturer. Regardless of whether or not your situation requires a HEPA system, make sure the unit will not create a noise hazard for those working in close proximity to it. Choose the vendor with an established, reputable brand and a proven history of handling occupational safety issues.

Looking for a High Performance Commercial Vacuum that's
Easy to Operate?
With over 40 years of experience as a maintenance technology manufacturer, Goodway is one of the leading providers of innovative cleaning systems for a wide range of industrial clean-up operations. Our customers include maintenance service providers as well as business owners and managers. With direct feedback from our users, we adapt our products to the real-world situations they face. That's why we engineer each product not only for performance benchmarks, but also for ease of operation and durability. Across our entire model line, you'll find numerous convenience features and automated functions that will save you time and money for the lifetime of the product. So, whether you run a spray booth, a machine shop, or a production line, you'll find a commercial vacuum cleaner that works for the unique situations you face, and perhaps even a few you haven't thought of.
One of the most commonly overlooked functions of a commercial vacuum cleaner is that sooner or later, it has to be unloaded. Again, consider your particular application and whether your purposes would be served best by: an easy-tilt collection tank for light, low-volume debris; a detachable, high-capacity roll-out collection tank; a pump-out vacuum for controlled discharge of recovered liquids; or an automated chip separator and pump-out that returns coolant and separated chips to a machine tool. Goodway also manufactures a complete line of custom, continuous-duty vacuum cleaners that are engineered for long-term performance, easy installation and space optimization. Most of the units in our commercial vacuum line are available in twin- and triple-motor configurations for enhanced suction power. And all our HEPA vacuums filter out fine particles down to 0.3 microns so that only clean, safe air is allowed through the system's exhaust. Many of our heavy-duty units also feature an external filter shaker that automatically keeps filters clean, saving you the time and hassle of having to do it manually. Whether your needs require 24X7 operation or automated return of collected material, using advanced vacuum technology is a smart way to avoid costly system downtime associated with manual production equipment.

Purpose-built Commercial Vacuums for Specific
Industrial Needs
Some applications require performance features that are optimized for particular situations. And there are commercial and industrial vacuums for you to choose from that are designed with your needs in mind. For instance, large warehouse and production floors can be cleaned in less time with a high-powered, walk-behind unit like the DV-RV-2 or DV-RV-3. Conversely, congested areas such as stairs, aisles, seats and shelving are ideal places for the portability of a backpack unit, such as the BPV-100, which comes in both standard and HEPA configurations. Hazardous locations like refineries and chemical, paint and nuclear plants require non-sparking units with anti-static filters to eliminate the risk of explosion. No matter what your specific needs are, a Goodway consultant will help you find a system that is tailored to your requirements. And if you think you have a situation we haven't encountered, contact us anyway. We value our customers' input, and we often use it to develop new products or update existing ones.
